UPDATE
for session 2003
10-10-02 - Meeting with Rep Damron - He has
agreed to file the bill for 2003 session for
non id to be released without court order.
1-7-03 - HB 71 was prefiled and
posted in Health and Welfare Committee
2-6-03 reported favorably, 1st reading, to
Calendar
2-7-03 2nd reading, to Rules
2-10 -posted for passage in the Regular Orders of the Day for
Tuesday, February 11, 2003
2-12 3rd reading, passed 96-0
2-13-received in Senate
2-19-to Judiciary (S)
and there the bill died - this
is the second year it has passed the house but the Judiciary Committee in the
Senate would not call the bill for vote
Now what to do? - With Damron's suggestion to ask Senator
Buford if he could help us on this bill Buford added it as an Committee
Substitute to HB 355 in the Health and Welfare Senate Committee -
and the Senate passed HB 355 with the Substitute added
3-4 -reported favorably, 1st reading, to Calendar with
Committee Substitute, committee amendment (1-title)
3-5-2nd reading, to Rules
3-10-posted for passage in the Regular Orders of the Day for Tuesday, March 11,
2003
3-11-3rd reading, passed 35-0 with Committee Substitute, committee amendment
(1-title)
The session is over this year except for about two more days
- March 24 and 25th. At that time there may be a chance that the
House will vote on HB 355 with the Senate Substitute (which is HB 71) - if
the House does, it should pass thru and become law.
The law passed !!!!
6-25-2003 - the state will release complete non-id background
info without a court order.
They are backed up with request - so be patient - it may take 6-12 months.
Thanks again Senator Buford and Representative Damron for your
interest and sincere concern.
